The Sonic Café

Scott Clark has always lived with music close at hand. Growing up outside Chicago, he was shaped early by the sound of radio in the 1960s and ’70s, developing a lifelong habit of listening deeply and collecting music widely.

His passion led to the creation of The Sonic Café, a program built to recapture the craft, pacing, and production values of great radio, while breaking free from the narrow, repetitive playlists that dominate commercial broadcasting. Scott curates with intention, curiosity, and a deep respect for the listener’s intelligence—assembling shows that surprise, entertain, and move.

The Sonic Café is set in an imaginary café overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Central Oregon Coast—a place where eclectic music, smart comedy, and pop culture naturally collide. While the café is imagined, the sound and spirit are grounded in the Pacific Northwest, where the program originates.

There’s simply nothing else quite like it on the radio.
